Trespa® NL Project of the Month (June):
From Old Foundations to New Beginnings
This month we are proud to announce the collaboration between BOAH Dalen, 𝗕𝗼𝘂𝘄𝗯𝗲𝗱𝗿𝗶𝗷𝗳 𝗭𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗿𝘀, and BMN Hardenberg as our Trespa & ArchiComm Netherlands Project of the Month June 2025.
The original 1964 building in Coevorden, once a preschool, no longer met the needs of modern childcare. After a 2020 renovation plan proved too costly with limited impact, Kinderwereld chose a fresh start. By 2022, a complete rebuild was planned, designed to be flexible, transparent, and future-ready.
Client duo Jacqueline Jansen-Koning and Karin Beuker worked closely with 𝗕𝗢𝗔𝗛 𝗗𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗻 to shape a building that separates daycare and after-school care (BSO), includes a central space, and allows for future expansion. Construction began in late 2023 with 𝗕𝗼𝘂𝘄𝗯𝗲𝗱𝗿𝗶𝗷𝗳 𝗭𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗿𝘀, led by project manager Tom Tiele.

A Calm and Recognisable Design
The new centre reflects a child-friendly, timeless aesthetic. Brickwork paired with Pura® NFC cladding gives the building a clean look that children and parents instantly recognise. Architect Annette Baarda and technical designer Willy Heijnen (BOAH Dalen) balanced creativity with attention to detail, supported by the smooth collaboration with the client and local authorities.
BMN Hardenberg joined early in the material planning. By matching the Pura® NFC façade design to panel dimensions, the team reduced cutting waste and material costs. Contractor Tom Tiele credits the project’s success to years of trust between Zweers and BMN, and to foreman Marcel Klaassen’s dedicated on-site leadership.

Built with Heart and Purpose
Demolition started in March 2024, revealing deep foundations that required piling. The highest point was reached just before summer, and the building was handed over in December. After final furnishing, the centre opened on January 6, 2025.
Sustainability was a consistent priority, paving stones, play equipment, and the bike shed were reused, aligning with Trespa’s Second Life innitiative. A standout moment came when children helped lay a test wall, creating a lasting memory for the entire team.
“This wasn’t just a job, it was fun to work on, and that shows,” said Tom Tiele. Architect Willy Heijnen recalled the joy in the carpenter’s eyes during the children’s hands-on moment. For client Karin Beuker, the result says it all: “Welcome to my mind. This is exactly what we imagined.”
