Trespa Virtuon

Hygiene

Virtuon is manufactured using a process incorporating EBC (Electron Beam Coating) technology, developed and patented by Trespa International BV, which binds the surface molecules very tightly. It is this unique surface combined with the pore-free core which gives Virtuon its very special product characteristics. The smooth, impervious surface also deters bacteria and prevents the growth of algae, molds or fungi.

Trespa Virtuon also offers optimized solutions for unavoidable seams/joints and corners since the large panel sizes available reduce such ‘dirt traps’ to a minimum. Its use facilitates designs which avoid crevices suitable for dirt and micro-organisms, such as are commonly found in hinges, hardware fittings and other components.

Lasting reliability and hygiene

The photographs shown were taken with the aid of a Scanning Electron Microscope and clearly demonstrate the difference between a surface produced with Trespa EBC technology (Trespa Virtuon) and a surface of traditional melamine. The melamine surface clearly shows cellulose fibers, whereas Trespa Virtuon does not. It’s this exceptional surface structure which gives Trespa Virtuon its long-lasting reliability and hygiene. Even the very last remnants of dirt can be easily and quickly removed.
